Passionate about music and writing, I created this blog on January 1st 2010, to share both interests while promoting quality music and independent artists through short articles, album reviews, and interviews. While the focus is mainly on international soul, hip-hop, and jazz, other genres are also featured, as long as they are the expression of true artistry and touch the listeners or make them think (or both).
The Wonderful World of Carminelitta is also a radio show, that was broadcast on Marrakech, Morocco-based Ness Radio and, as of December 2013, on Brooklyn-based Bondfire Radio. While the blog is more appropriate for lengthy write-ups about EPs, albums, mixtapes, etc., the podcast/radio show is the best way to showcase singles and help artists promote their music by sharing it with an international audience.
In addition to my personal endeavours, I was also an editor for Word Is Bond, where I was initially in charge of interviews and contributed to album reviews occasionally. Word Is Bond, which is one of the most important websites when it comes to underground, independent hip-hop, is giving artists more exposure while adding a unique touch with in-depth reviews, as well as unique features like Food 4 Thought, Drop on a Classic, etc.
While music is a major element in my life, I am also a writer and recording artist (for lack of a more appropriate word). I published two mini-books, recorded some of my poetry, as well as collaborated with several MCs, singers, and producers on several projects. Always eager to spread my art and connect with like-minded people, I am available for collaborations with anyone who shares my passion and vision.
It’s all about sharing!
